But it is intriguing and fascinating nonetheless.
From a screen capture of Fark.com found in my hard drive, sitting there collecting dust for two years. Have no idea what the topic was or where it might be. Bonus cookie if you can find it.

This time from Slate.com, [original article]:

Am I construing anything? Yes.
What I am construing is the kid looks more like a brutal dictator than the actual, cheerful-looking dictator on the left.
The actual dictator on the left is Teodoro Obiang, President of Equatorial Guinea - not Robert Mugabe, President of Zimbabwe.
The end.

I’ve had this screen cap bottled up since 2005. No matter, it’s still good.

The following map shows which countries claim themselves to be democracies (in blue):

It should surprise you how many actually do…just like how many prisoners claim that they are “innocent”.

After having solved all the world’s problems by 2090, the United Empire of Earth decided to standardize and regulate English spelling once and for all. The emperor decided to use Basic Roman orthography.
All of the world’s English literature was translated into the new script by 2156. Children quickly adapted to the new script and by that year, everyone was reading, writing, typing and telepathizing in it.
Then, in 2168, the “Grey Race” (native name not spellable using Latin characters) invaded Earth and forced English speakers of Earth to use Greyillic. The alphabet was poorly suited for English, even worse than pre-Basic English. More diacritics were used than any language of speakers that were invaded by the Greys. Humans also lacked the dexterity to write properly in Greyillic.
But the Greys promised that humans would get free fuel, food and water for eternity for assimilating!
And so they tried to please their overlords.
As fate would have it, the Greyist government failed to transform the earth into paradise for humanity after 75 years of experimentation. English would switch back into Basic Roman once the humans declared independence. Most Greys became ironically assimilated into human society.
Az av 2253, da cheindzh bak tu Roman haz bin veri slo.

This is a snapshot of today’s mid-20somethings in the year 2050. Of course, it is not very bright.
Tastes of interior design and entertainment took a turn for the worse in the 2030s when a revival of the most kitschy things from random decades became en vogue. This, partly due to the fact that by then everything had been done. Creativity had long since become a forgotten concept in humanity.
MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!

If you are well-versed in world news, you probably don’t need me to tell you where this is:

This is the place where people can make $1 trillion a day and not have enough to eat tomorrow. This is the way the world will end.
This is the way the world will end.
Not with a bang, not with a whimper, but in a deafening silence.
Silence.
Good night.
